કુલભૂષણ જાધવની ફાંસી અટકાવવાના કેસમાં ભારતને પાકિસ્તાન સામે મોટી જીત મળી છે.

પાકિસ્તાને આરોપ મૂક્યો હતો કે, ભારતનો પૂર્વ નેવી અધિકારી જાધવ પાકિસ્તાનની સરહદમાં જાસૂસી કરવા માટે જ ઘૂસ્યો હતો.

આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય કોર્ટના પ્રેસિડેન્ટ રોની અબ્રાહમે જણાવ્યું હતું કે, ઓગસ્ટ ૨૦૧૭માં આ કેસનો આખરી ચુકાદો ના આવે ત્યાં સુધી પાકિસ્તાન જાધવને ફાંસી નહીં આપી શકે. યુનાઈટેડ નેશન્સની સર્વોચ્ચ અદાલતના ૧૧ જસ્ટિસે સર્વસંમતિથી નોંધ્યું હતું કે, આ કેસમાં પાકિસ્તાને ભારતીય દૂતાવાસના અધિકારીઓને કુલભૂષણ જાધવને મળવાની મંજૂરી આપવી પડશે.

ભારત અને પાકિસ્તાન બંનેએ ૧૯૭૭ના વિયેના સંધિ પર હસ્તાક્ષર કર્યા છે. એટલે આ બંને દેશ આંતરરાષ્ટ્રીય કોર્ટનો ચુકાદો માનવા બંધાયેલા છે.

ભારત વતી જાધવનો કેસ સિનિયર વકીલ હરીશ સાલવેએ ફક્ત એક રૃપિયો ફી લઇ લડ્યો હતો.

અમદાવાદમાં કલેક્ટર કચેરી, મહેસુલ ભવન-દશક્રોઇ, મામલતદાર, જનસેવા સહિતની કચેરીઓમાં રેશનકાર્ડ, સ્માર્ટકાર્ડ પીવીસી, ઇ-ધરા સહિતની કામગીરી બંધ રહેતા હજારો અરજદારોને ધક્કો પડયો હતો.

આજે શ્રીનગરમાં “ગુડ્સ એન્ડ સર્વિસ ટેક્સ” કાઉન્સિલની બેઠક યોજાઇ હતી.

·      જેમાં ઘંઉ, ચોખા, અનાજ, કઠોળ અને દૂધ-દહીં પર જીએસટી લાગુ જ ન કરવાનો નિર્ણય લેવામાં આવ્યો હોવાથી તેના ભાવ નીચા રહેશે.

·         સાબૂ,માથામાં નાખવાનું તેલ અને ટૂથપેસ્ટ પર અત્યારે ૨૨થી ૨૪ ટકાનો ટેક્સ આવે છે તેને સ્થાને ૧૮ ટકા જીએસટી લગાડવાનો નિર્ણય કરવામાં આવ્યો છે.

·         અત્યારે દેશના કેટલાક રાજ્યોમાં ઘઉં અને ચોખા પર પણ વેટ વસૂલવામાં આવી રહ્યો છે. તેના પર જીએસટી ન લાગુ કર્યો હોવાથી તેના દામ નીચા રહેશે.

·      જીએસટી કાઉન્સિલની મિટિંગના પહેલા જ દિવસે ૧૨૧૧ આઈટેમ્સના જીએસટીના રેટ નક્કી કરવામાં આવ્યા છે. પહેલી જુલાઈથી આ દર લાગુ પડે તેવી ધારણા છે.

·         મીઠાઈ પર પાંચ ટકાના દરે ટેક્સ લેવાનો નિર્ણય કરવામાં આવ્યો છે.

·         સાકર, ચા, કોફી (ઇન્સ્ટન્ટ કોફી સિવાયની કોફી), ખાદ્ય તેલ પર પાંચ ટકાના દરે જીએસટી લેવામાં આવશે.

·         કોલસા પર અત્યારે ૧૧.૬૯ ટકાના દરે વેરો લેવામાં આવે છે, ત્યારે તેના પર માત્ર ૫ ટકાના દરે જીએસટી લેવાનું નક્કી કરવામાં આવ્યું છે. તેનો સીધો લાભ પાવર જનરેટિંગ કંપનીઓને મળશે.

Agreements between India and Palestine on five points

India and Palestine has done agreements on five point, during the 4 day visit of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to India.

Abbas visited fifth times to India and the third state visit after his earlier visits in 2008 and 2012.

These 5 MoUs signed were on

·         visa exemption for diplomatic passport holder,

·          agriculture cooperation,

·         cooperation in field of IT & Electronics,

·         health sector and cooperation in the field of youth affairs and

·         sports.  

Anshu Jamsenpa - First woman in the world to climb the Everest four times.

Anshu Jamsenpa, a mother of two, is showing us all how it's done. Arunachal Pradesh mountaineer Anshu Jamsenpa recently created history by becoming the first Indian woman to climb up Mount Everest for the fourth time.

Jamsenpa, started her expedition on May 13 and reached the highest peak of the world on Tuesday morning to unfurl the national flag.

With Jamsenpa, 17 other climbers also made it to the top of Mt Everest on Tuesday(16th may) morning.

With the feat, she also became the first woman in the world to climb the Everest four times.

Agreement of BSNL

BSNL has done agreements with Facebook and MobiKwik to provide better service for internet and its value added services among its customers.

BSNL has also signed a third MoU with Disney Land India to offer premium online gaming services to its mobile customers.

NITI Aayog - first Samavesh meeting

With an aim to bring together 32 premier educational and policy research institutions to catalyse the country’s development process, government think-tank NITI Aayog on Wednesday held the first Samavesh meeting.

 “This is the first ever initiative taken in the country to bring the large number of institutions cutting across diverse domain themes to deliberate together on the way forward for inclusive development of the country,” an official statement on Wednesday said.
