The Pierre Lenfant International Planning excellence award 2017 winner -

Odisha’s capital city, Bhubaneswar, has become the first Indian
city to win the Pierre L'enfant International Planning excellence award
2017. The award is given out by the American Planning Association (APA) for good
and advanced town planning and engaging its residents in the planning process.
Bhubaneshwar is popularly known as the Temple City of India.
Bhubaneswar's Foundation Day is celebrated on April 13, the day
the capital was shifted from Cuttack in the year 1948.
German town-planning engineer "Otto Kolenigs Berger" prepared the master plan of the city.
