What is TAN number?

Tax Deduction Account Number or Tax Collection Account Number is a 10-digit alphanumeric number issued by the Income-tax Department (we will refer to it as TAN). TAN is to be obtained by all persons who are responsible for deducting tax at source (TDS) or who are required to collect tax at source (TCS).

Structure of TAN

First 4 digits of TAN are alphabets, the next 5 digits of TAN are numeric and last digit is an alphabet.

First 3 alphabets of TAN represent the jurisdiction code, 4th alphabet is the initial of the name of the TAN holder who can be a company, firm, individual, etc. For example, TAN allotted to Mr. Mahesh of Delhi may appear as under: DEL M 12345 L

What is PAN number?

PAN, or permanent account number, is a unique 10-digit alphanumeric identity allotted to each taxpayer by the Income Tax Department under the supervision of the Central Board of Direct Taxes. It also serves as an identity proof. PAN is mandatory for financial transactions such as receiving taxable salary or professional fees, sale or purchase of assets above specified limits, buy mutual funds and more.

The primary objective of PAN is to use a universal identification key to track financial transactions that might have a taxable component to prevent tax evasion. The PAN number remains unaffected by change of address throughout India.

હાથી ગામ

હાથીઓ માટે બનેલું ભારતનું એક માત્ર "હાથી ગામ"

આ ગામ 100 એકર જમીનમાં વસેલું છે

ગામમાં 51 હાથી માટે 20 બ્લોકની વ્યવસ્થા છે.

ભારતનું એક એવું ગામ જેને માત્ર હાથીઓ માટે જ વસાવવામાં આવ્યું છે. આ ગામ 100 એકર જમીનમાં વસેલું છે. અહી હાથીઓને રહેવા માટેની તમામ વ્યવસ્થા છે. જેને જોવા માટે વિદેશી પ્રવાસીઓ પણ આવે છે. વર્ષો પહેલા જ્યારે સરકાર અજમેર કિલ્લાને પ્રવાસીઓ માટે ખુલ્લો મુકવામાં આવ્યો ત્યારે હાથીની સવાર પ્રવાસીમાં ખુબ જ લોકપ્રિય બની હતી. એટલા માટે આમેર પાસે દિલ્લી રોડ પર હાથીઓના રહેવા માટે એક વ્યવસ્થા કરવામાં આવી. હાથીની સારી રીતે દેખરેખ થવાથી તેમની સંખ્યામાં પણ વધારો થયો છે. 2008માં રાજસ્થાન સરકારે આ ગામનું નામ હાથી ગામ તરીકે જાહેર કર્યું હતું.

હવે આ ગામમાં 47 હાથીની અને 4 હાથી છે.

India It is a little known fact that Mumtaz Mahal, Moghul Emperor Shah Jahan’s favorite queen died due to complications related to repeated childbirth. The Taj Mahal for all its beauty is a grim reminder of the fact that even today there are thousands of women in the country who continue to die during childbirth. Every minute one woman somewhere in the world dies due to pregnancy related causes. In India every seven minutes a maternal death occurs leading to more than 77,000 women dying each year in India alone. The tragedy is that a majority of these deaths can be prevented. It is a question of not just a Right to Health but is also a Human Rights issue. It is every woman’s right to live and survive pregnancy and childbirth. These were some of the issues and concerns expressed during the celebrations of the National Safe Motherhood Day organized by White Ribbon Alliance India . The White Ribbon Alliancefor Safe Motherhood is a coalition of organizations working together to increase awareness, build alliancesand act as a catalyst for action in order to reduce maternalmortality. CEDPA launched the White Ribbon Alliance for Safe Motherhood in India (WRAI) in November 1999.
