Disabled People Exempted From Standing During National Anthem In Movie Halls

The Supreme Court has exempted six categories of disabled people from standing when the national anthem is played in theatres.

These include people suffering from cerebral palsy, Parkinson disease, muscular dystrophy and other categories of disability.

૧૮૪૩ની ૧૯મી એપ્રિલએ હોફમેન નામના અંગ્રેજી વૈજ્ઞાનિકે પ્રયોગશાળામાં પોતાની જાત ઉપર વાયુનો પ્રયોગ કરતા ઘાયલ થતા તેને સાઈકલ ઉપર દવાખાને લઇ જવામાં આવ્યા હતા. યુધ્ધના એ કાળમાં અન્ય વાહનો પર પ્રતિબંધ હતો. તેથી હોફમેનની આ સાયકલ યાત્રાના દિવસને બાયસીકલ ડે તરીકે ઉજવવામાં આવે છે.

૧૮૫૦ પછીના જમાનામાં સાઈકલને એક વાહન ગણવામાં આવતું તેને માટે લાયસન્સ ફરજીયાત હતુ. લાયસન્સમાં સાઇકલની જાત, ફ્રેમ નંબર, બનાવટ વગેરે દર્શાવવામાં આવતું, સુર્યાસ્ત પછી સાયકલ ઉપર લાઇટ ફરજિયાત હતી. પોલીસ દ્વારા લાઇટ-બેલ અને બ્રેકની કડક ચકાસણી કરવામાં આવતી, બેથી વધારે વ્યક્તિ સાયકલ પર બેસી શકતા નહતા. રોડની ડાબી બાજુએ ચલાવવાનો કાયદો હતો.

Vistadome glass-ceiling coach launched by Indian Railways.

A Vistadome coach which has glass panels in the roof to provide tourists with all-round views on scenic lines was launched on the Vishakhapatnam – Araku route on April 16.

Two Vistadome coaches have been built for the route by the Integral Coach Factory in Chennai. As well as the glass ceiling, they have rotating seats, LED lighting and a GPS-based passenger information system. Similar vehicles are planned for introduction on other scenic routes.

કોલકાતા મેટ્રો માટે ગંગા નદી નીચે ૧.૭ કિ.મી લાંબી ટનલ બનશે

દેશની પ્રથમ અન્ડરવોટર રિવર ટનલ કોલકાતામાં તૈયાર થઈ રહી છે. કોલકાતા મેટ્રો માટે ગંગા નદીની નીચે ૧.૭ કિલોમીટર લાંબી ટનલનું કમ શરૃ કરી દેવાયુ છે.
